ALTAR
The Altar ‘s design was created to complement the sweeping curved beams crisscrossing the ceiling of Saint George’s Church , a beautiful 19th century building that suffered some damage during Katrina.
The platform the altar sits on had to be movable in order to accommodate different configurations for various celebrations. we therefore incorporated some custom casters hidden by removable panels.
The matching inlays were created to unify the two elements (platform and altar ) .
And finally the wrought iron tying piece that joins the two legs of the altar
was designed and built by the ironworking priest of the church…
